Hand

A hand told hold.
 Someone’s, somewhere.
To squeeze, to clasp, to lightly kiss.
 A hand.
 Warm, gentle, kind.
 Tenderly hold, handing warm blankets.
 A hand to hold.
 Someone’s, close by.
To cling, to play, to dance together.
A hand, any hand, your hand.
To hold and cling, to clasp and squeeze.
 Wiping away stray tears,
Cleaning stray crumbs of embarrassed cheeks.
A hand that speaks a silent language.
A hand that writes only words.
 Holding onto another hand,
 And promising.
